Welcome to Alice's World

The purpose of this blogsite is to bring glory to my Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. There will be many different topics discussed, so hopefully you will enjoy your visit with me. Some of the topics may be very controversial, while others may be the normal stuff everybody already knows a little about. Because I am a Christian as well as an herbal enthusiast and also grow and am always learning about organic gardening and heirloom seeds and plants, I believe in going to what I believe to be the "book of books," meaning the Authorized King James Version of 1611 Bible, for most of the things discussed here. The things mentioned will be involving these topics. Of course, from time to time you may see pictures of my family (my grown children and my grandchildren as well as my other half, i.e.HUSBAND), but for now I would just like to say THANKS for joining me!

Job's Answer From The Lord!

I think that  many saved people really don't think about what the Lord says about Himself and how profound it is. If they did they would stand in awe of our creator and be more swift to pay attention to what He has to say in his instruction book to us as believers! Sometimes it seems that Christians actually think they have a puppet on a string that they can call on whenever they feel the need for help and actually think that they have the right to blame the LORD for the consequences in life that have been  brought on due to wrong decisions. Some have the idea that the LORD is sitting around waiting to come to every beckoning call. A lot of times he is not held in reverence but is put on the same level as man. The following chapters and verses are said by the LORD himself and show us that we have an awesome creator who has everything under control! Also, this is for all you people out there that read a different version of the Bible other than the King James and you would not have the very words that the LORD said about himself.

Job 38
Then the LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said, Who is this that darkeneth counsel by words without knowledge? Gird up now thy loins like a man: for I will demand of thee, and answer thou me.
Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare it, if thou has understanding.
Who hath laid the measures thereof, if thou knowest? or who hath stretched the line upon it?
Whereupon are the foundations thereof fastened? or who laid the corner stone thereof?
When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?
Or who shut up the sea with doors, when it brake forth, as if it had issued out of the womb?
When I made the cloud the garment thereof, and thick darkness a swaddlingband for it,
And brake up for it my decreed place, and set bars and doors,
And said, Hitherto shalt thou come, but no further: and here shall thy proud waves be stayed?
Hast thou commanded the morning since thy days: and caused the dayspring to know his place;
That it might take hold of the ends of the earth, that the wicked might be shaken out of it?
It is turned as clay to the seal; and they stand as a garment.
And from the wicked their light is withholden, and the high arm shall be broken.
Hast thou entered into the springs of the sea? or hast thou walked in the search of the depth?
Have the gates of death been opened unto thee? or hast thou seen the doors of the shadow of death?
Hast thou perceived the breadth of the earth? declare if thou knowest it all.
Where is the way where light dwelleth? and as for darkness, where is the place thereof,
That thou shouldest take it to the bound thereof, and that thou shouldest know the paths to the house thereof?
Knowest thou it, because thou wast then born? or because the number of thy days is great?
Hast thou entered into the treasures of the snow? or hast thou seen the treasures of the hail,
Which I have reserved against the time of trouble, against the day of battle and war?
By what way is the light parted, which scattereth the east wind upon the earth?
Who hath divided a watercourse for the overflowing of waters, or a way for the lightning of thunder;
To cause it to rain on the earth, where no man is; on the wilderness, wherein there is  no man;
To satisfy the desolate and waste ground; and to cause the bud of the tender herb to spring forth?
Hath the rain a father? or who hath begotten the drops of dew?
Out of whose womb came the ice? and the hoary frost of heaven, who hath gendered it?
The waters are hid as with a stone, and the face of the deep is frozen.
Canst thou bind the sweet influences of Pleiades, or loose the bands of Orion?
Canst thou bring forth Mazzaroth in his season? or canst thou guide Arcturus with his sons?
Knowest thou the ordinances of heaven? canst thou set the dominion thereof in the earth?
Canst thou lift up thy voice to the clouds, that abundance of waters may cover thee?
Canst thou send lightnings, that they may go, and say unto thee, Here we are?
Who hath put wisdom in the inward parts? or who hath given understanding to the heart?
Who can number the clouds in wisdom? or who can stay the bottles of heaven,
When the dust groweth into hardness, and the clods cleave fast together?
Wilt thou hunt the prey for the lion? or fill the appetite of the young lions,
When they couch in their dens, and abide in the covert to lie in wait?
Who provideth for the raven his food? when his young ones cry unto God, they wander for lack of meat.

Job 39
Knowest thou the time when the wild goats of the rock bring forth? or canst thou mark when the hinds do calve?
Canst thou number the months that they fulfil? or knowest thou the time when they bring forth?
They bow themselves, they bring forth their young ones, they cast out their sorrows.
Their young ones are in good liking, they grow up with corn, they go forth, and return not unto them.
Who hath sent out the wild ass free? or who hath loosed the bands of the wild ass?
Whose house I have made the wilderness, and the barren land his dwellings.
He scorneth the multitude of the city, neither regardeth he the crying of the driver.
The range of the mountains is his pasture, and he searcheth after every green thing.
Will the unicorn be willing to serve thee, or abide by thy crib?
Canst thou bind the unicorn with his band in the furrow? or will he harrow the valleys after thee?
Wilt thou trust him because his strength is great? or wilt thou leave thy labour to him?
Wilt thou believe him, that he will bring home thy seed, and gather it into thy barn?
Gavest thou the goodly wings unto the peacocks? or wings and feathers unto the ostrich?
Which leaveth her eggs in the earth, and warmeth them in dust,
And forgetteth that the foot may crush them, or that the wild beast may break them.
She is hardened against her young ones, as though they were not hers: her labour is in vain without fear;
Because God hath deprived her of wisdom, neither hath he imparted to her understanding.
What time she lifteth up herself on high, she scorneth the horse and his rider.
Hast thou given the horse strength? hast thou clothed his neck with thunder?
Canst thou make him afraid as a grasshopper? the glory of his nostrils is terrible.
He paweth in the valley, and rejoiceth in his strength: he goeth on to meet the armed men.
He mocketh at fear, and is not affrighted; neither turneth he back from the sword.
The quiver rattleth against him, the glittering spear and the shield.
He swalloweth the ground with fierceness and rage: neither believeth he that it is the sound of the trumpet.
He saith among the trumpets, Ha, ha; and he smelleth the battle afar off, the thunder of the captains, and the shouting.
Doth the hawk fly by thy wisdom, and stretch her wings toward the south?
Doth the eagle mount up at thy command, and make her nest on high?
She dwelleth and abideth on the rock, upon the crag of the rock, and the strong place.
From thence she seeketh the prey, and her eyes behold afar off.
Her young ones also suck up blood: and where the slain are, there is she.

Job 40
Moveover the LORD answered Job, and said, Shall he that contendeth with the Almighty instruct him? he that reproveth God, let him answer it.
Then Job answered the LORD, and said,
Behold, I am vile; what shall I answer thee? I will lay mine hand upon my mouth.
Once have I spoken; but I will not answer: yea, twice; but I will proceed no further.
Then answered the LORD unto Job out of the whirlwind, and said,
Gird up thy loins now like a man: I will demand of thee, and declare thou unto me.
Wilt thou also disannul my judgment? wilt thou condemn me, that thou mayest be righteous?
Hast thou an arm like GOD? or canst thou thunder with a voice like him?
Deck thyself now with majesty and excellency; and array thyself with glory and beauty.
Cast abroad the rage of thy wrath: and behold every one that is proud, and bring him low; and tread down the wicked in their place.
Hide them in the dust together; and bind their faces in secret.
Then will I also confess unto thee that thine own right hand can save thee.
Behold now behemoth which I made with thee; he eateth grass as an ox.
Lo now, his strength is in his loins, and his force is in the navel of his belly.
He moveth his tail like a cedar: the sinews of his stones are wrapped together.
His bones are as strong pieces of brass; his bones are like bars of iron.
He is the chief of the ways of God: he that made him can make his sword to approach unto him.
Surely the mountains bring him forth food, where all the beasts of the field play.
He lieth under the shady trees, in the covert of the reed, and fens.
The shady trees cover him with their shadow; the willows of the brook compass him about.
Behold, he drinketh up a river, and hasteth not: he trusteth that he can draw up Jordan into his mouth.
He taketh it with his eyes: his nose pierceth through snares.

Job 41
Canst thou draw out leviathan with an hook? or his tongue with a cord which thou lettest down?
Canst thou put an hook into his nose? or bore his jaw through with a thorn?
Will he make many supplications unto thee? will he speak soft words unto thee?
Will he make a covenant with thee? wilt thou take him for a servant for ever?
Wilt thou play with him as with a bird? or wilt thou bind him for thy maidens?
Shall the companions make a banquet of him? shall they part him among the merchants?
Canst thou fill his skin with barbed irons? or his head with fish spears?
Lay thine hand upon him, remember the battle, do no more.
Behold, the hope of him is in vain: shall not one be cast down even at the sight of him?
None is so fierce that dare stir him up: who then is able to stand before me?
Who hath prevented me, that I should repay him? whatsoever is under the whole heaven is mine.
I will not conceal his parts, nor his power, nor his comely proportion.
Who can discover the face of his garment? or who can come to him with his double bridle?
Who can open the doors of his face? his teeth ar terrible round about.
His scales are his pride, shut up together as with a close seal.
One is so near to another, that no air can come between them.
They are joined one to another, they stick together, that they cannot be sundered.
By his neesings a light doth shine, and his eyes are like the eyelids of the morning.
Out of his mouth go burning lamps, and sparks of fire leap out.
Out of his nostrils goeth smoke, as out of a seething pot or caldron.
His breath kindleth coals, and a flame goeth out of his mouth.
In his neck remaineth strength, and sorrow is turned into joy before him.
The flakes of his flesh are joined together: they are firm in themselves; they cannot be moved.
His heart is as firm as a stone; yea, as hard as a piece of the nether millstone.
When he raiseth up himself, the mighty are afraid: by reason of breakings they purify themselves.
The sword of him that layeth at him cannot hold: the spear, the dart, nor the habergeon.
He esteemeth iron as straw, and brass as rotten wood.
The arrow cannot make him flee: slingstones are turned with him into stubble.
Darts are counted as stubble: he laugheth at the shaking of a spear.
Sharp stones are under him: he spreadeth sharp pointed things upon the mire.
He maketh the deep to boil like a pot: he maketh a path to shine after him; one would think the deep to be hoary.
Upon earth there is not his like, who is made without fear.
He beholdeth all high things: he is a king over all the children of pride.

HERBS AND HEIRLOOMS
Habanero and Cayenne

From The Herb Patch

Welcome to the March issue of Herbs and Heirlooms!

This month I would like to share some information concerning the vegetable and/or herb plants namely the habanera and cayenne pepper. These two ingredients are found in the Super Immune Tonic and Superblast! The habanera pepper which is usually hotter than most cayenne will also be found in the arthritis lotion that I am in the process of making. This is what I would like to focus on this month. The following information was taken from the website www.cayennepepper.info/health-benefits-of-cayenne-pepper.html which talked about the herbalist the late Dr. Christopher, so I found it fascinating and very informative and would like to pass this information on to my readers:

Cayenne Pepper and Heart Health

Yes, the effect of cayenne pepper on your body is dramatic, even literally instant and no more so than with the heart. Cayenne pepper's benefits is one of the things that brought you to this article so now let’s discuss the phenomenal healing properties of cayenne pepper with the human heart. Dr. John Christopher, the famed natural herbalist, was persecuted relentlessly by the government for his practice of herbal medicine all the while assisting patients in curing heart disease, cancer, tuberculosis, infertility, rheumatism, leukemia, and every other incurable under the sun. One of his greatest stories in his long career was how he could instantly stop a heart attack if he could get the patient to drink a glass of warm cayenne water. He said, "A teaspoon of cayenne should bring the patient out of the heart attack.” While this is not directly related to cayenne pepper and heart health, with internal hemorrhaging, if the patient can drink a glass of extra warm cayenne water, Dr. Christopher wrote, "...by the count of ten the bleeding will stop. Instead of all the pressure being centralized, it is equalized and the clotting becomes more rapid."

Perhaps now you can see why cayenne pepper is regarded as a true "miracle herb." With over 700,000 Americans experiencing a stroke each year and almost half a million dying yearly of either heart disease or related issues, believe it or not the cure is as close as your local health food establishment. How should you take cayenne? Ideally, orally in a drink. The cayenne pepper drink, when taken faithfully, will dramatically improve your heart health as well as your venous structure. Drink it with warm distilled water but if that is unavailable, purified water will substitute nicely.
Start by mixing about a quarter of a teaspoon in a glass of warm water. Then, down the hatch. Don't worry, you'll get used to it.

Of course, the Scoville Heat Unit (SHU) rating of the cayenne pepper you're using should be known. Most cayenne is between 30,000 to 50,000 SHUs.Some, though, like the African Birdseye cayenne pepper powder can come in anywhere from 90,000 to 140,000! Needless to say, you should scale back your dosages of this until your body acclimates to its heat.
Another benefit of cayenne peppers is its antifungal properties. Cayenne pepper antifungal properties are significant although this is not its primary health benefit. Cayenne has been shown in some studies to be active against phomopsis and collectotrichum -- both are fungal pathogens. These fungal pathogens affect fruits especially strawberries and are not directly related to humans.

Currently, cayenne’s  immune system benefits are also the subject of studies conducted by many nutritional supplement companies and microbiologists.  Let's get even more specific. Here is a comprehensive list of all the things cayenne can do for your health and why you should make it a regular part of your daily health regime. (I take this information from Dr. John R. Christopher's book School of Natural Healing.) By the way, the word "capsicum" is another term for cayenne pepper and is used interchangeably. That is how Dr. Christopher referred to cayenne in his book.

Key Health Benefits of Cayenne Peppers

•This herb is a great food for the circulatory system in that it feeds the necessary elements into the cell structure of the arteries, veins and capillaries so that these regain the elasticity of youth again, and the blood pressure adjusts itself to normal. It rebuilds the tissue in the stomach and heals the stomach and intestinal ulcers; in equalizing the blood circulation, Cayenne produces natural warmth in your body; and in stimulating the peristaltic motion of the intestines, it aids in assimilation and elimination.

Cayenne regulates the flow of blood from the head to the feet so that the pressure is equalized; it influences the heart immediately, then gradually extends its effects to the arteries, capillaries, and nerves (the frequency of the pulse is not increased, but is given more vigor).

•Human circulation; it is warming; dilating; specific for varicose veins; equalizes the blood pressure in the arterial and venous system; equalizes blood pressure instantly actually.

Cayenne is useful in alleviating allergies, muscle cramp, improving digestion, gives more pep and energy, and helps wound healing with minimal scar tissue.

Cayenne is a counter-irritant; it brings blood to the surface and allows the toxins to be taken away.

•Great for heartburn.

•For atonic gout, in paralysis, in dropsy, in tympanitis, and in the debilitated stages of fever.

•For sore throats—gargle (prepare the gargle with honey); for spasmodic and irritating coughs; heartburn and diarrhea;

•Enables feeble stomachs to digest food; for atonic dyspepsia; specific for hemorrhoids; cures intermittent fever; Capsicum has the power to control menorrhagia; relieves sea-sickness;

•Capsicum is particularly efficient in tonsillitis, and the sore throat of scarlet fever and in diphtheria no application is so efficient as a strong gargle or wash made with Capsicum.

•Promotes digestion; relieves pains of the womb; removes obstructed menstruation; for quinsy; for all diseases of the throat; use as a plaster with honey for rheumatic pains, pains of the joints, gout, swellings, etc.; Use outwardly as a liniment, apply it warm or hot for arthritis and rheumatism; gargle for scarlet fever; use an infusion for ulcers in the mouth, strep throat or tonsillitis. (p.103)

Cayenne is an excellent remedy for a cold; mix infusion with slippery elm and molasses or honey, and take in doses throughout the day; also excellent for sore throat and coughs.

•Eases toothache; preserves the teeth from rotting, and when rubbed on the gums, stimulates them enough to prevent pyorrhea.

•Capsicum has a powerful action on the mucous membrane, and in hoarseness and sore throat, and in putrid throat a gargle made of Capsicum is particularly beneficial.

•By pouring hot vinegar upon the fruits of Capsicum all the essential qualities are preserved. This vinegar is an excellent stomachic.

•Capsicum can be used in the treatment of a snake bite.

Cayenne stimulates the appetite, more especially as a hot climate tends to produce anorexia. We have always held the saliva is the key that unlocks the door to digestion. Capsicum, a sialogogue, will stimulate the flow of saliva and will be very helpful to people who have become accustomed to ‘inhaling’ their food and thus robbing themselves of the benefits of saliva in the digestive process. Capsicum would stimulate their flow of saliva as they return to a healthier attitude toward eating.

•Cayenne pepper is very soothing; it is effective as a poultice for rheumatism, inflammation, pleurisy, and helpful also if taken internally for these. For sores and wounds it makes a good poultice. It is a stimulant when taken internally as well as being antispasmodic. Good for kidneys, spleen and pancreas; wonderful for lockjaw; will heal a sore ulcerated stomach; Capsicum is a specific and very effective remedy for yellow fever, as well as other fevers and may be taken in capsules followed by a glass of water. (p. 119).

So, there you have it. Cayenne pepper is literally one of the greatest health secrets in the world. It's also remarkably inexpensive. I've seen it as low as $1.67 a pound and as high as $35 or so (it was organic certified), but even that $35 a pound figure was astonishingly low, in my view. Big Pharma hates medicinal spices and herbs as they are a powerhouse of nutrition and healing but they don't offer much with profits. It, therefore, takes the dedicated seeker of truth to find out for themselves–and that is why I put up this website.

**A note from Alice
For a while I have known that cayenne pepper can have dramatic effects in the body, but one day I got to find out first hand the ability for cayenne to stop bleeding. When my husband (Sam) was working out of town and I had a problem with my back, before he had to leave  he reluctantly went outside to cut all the okra from the garden, which by the time he got back home would have been overgrown to the point of being uneatable. Instead of wearing his glasses to see while he was cutting, he decided to cut without them. He ended up cutting a small piece of his finger which by the time he got inside was bleeding profusely. He ran some cold water over it which made it hurt worse, and then asked me what could he do to stop the bleeding.

All of a sudden it came to me that I had read over and over that cayenne would stop bleeding, so I told him to shake some cayenne pepper on it. Within seconds the bleeding stopped and then we wrapped it up in clean cotton gauze and put some of my Me Me’s Butt Salve mixed with tea tree oil on it because it has ingredients in it to fight infection and he went to work thinking that the finger would be bleeding and he might have to go to the emergency room. Later, in the week he told me that the finger did not bleed anymore and that it did not hurt! Also, when he unwrapped it later it had formed a natural bandage from the cayenne and then scabbed over and later healed. It healed very quickly, even quicker than another finger he had cut slightly while working the week before. So, I was sold on the power of cayenne to stop bleeding!

HERBS FOR HEALTH

EASING MUSCLE ACHES
by Steven Foster

Last summer, as I was stooping to photograph a plant, the muscles in my left shoulder and neck suddenly became locked. My head was frozen at a 45° angle, and a sharp pain radiated through my upper body. During the next two days, I took the muscle relaxants and painkillers prescribed by my physician, tried drinking a kava-root extract to relax the muscles, and even ventured to the chiropractor's for realignment—to no avail. My neck stayed as crooked and painful as ever. Finally, an acupuncturist relaxed my muscles and reduced their inflammation by inserting needles and rubbing my neck with a cooling menthol balm.

Muscle pain is one of the most complaints for which people seek advice from health-care practitioners. It may arise through overuse, injury, or disorders such as osteoarthritis, spinal tuberculosis, or kidney or liver disease. Sudden changes of temperature and humidity also can cause temporary stiffness and soreness. One time-honored approach to treating muscle pain is to massage the affected area with an analgesic salve, like the menthol preparation my acupuncturist rubbed on my neck. External analgesics provide an easy and effective way to cope with muscle pain; in fact, they have been the fastest growing nonprescription drugs since 1990, with sales increasing at about 11 percent per year.

Many popular over-the-counter topical pain relievers contain ingredients derived from plants, such as mustard seed, sweet birch oil, peppermint, and red peppers. These are all counter-irritants—substances that relieve pain by producing a lesser pain and sometimes also mild skin inflammation above the site of the aching muscle. Some suspect that counter-irritants also increase blood flow to the muscles, allowing the heat they product to penetrate the skin to deeper tissues.

Methyl salicylate
Drinking a tea made from the leaves of wintergreen has been a traditional American treatment for colds, headache, stomachache, and fevers; the same tea was also used as a wash for sore muscles. The essential oil of wintergreen is chemically nearly identical to that of black, or sweet birch, which has been traditionally used to treat rheumatism, gout, scrofula, skin eruptions, scurvy, bladder disorders, gonorrhea, neuralgia, and fevers.

The active and major ingredient in these oils is methyl salicylate, which is chemically related to aspirin but far more irritating to the stomach. Today, synthetically produced methyl salicylate is mainly used as a topical counter-irritant. It is found in ointments, liniments, and analgesic balms at concentrations of 1 to 30 percent. Products containing more than 5 percent methyl salicylate should not be used on children as it is rapidly absorbed through the skin and even small quantities can be fatal.

Menthol
Menthol is an alcohol comprising 29 to 48 percent of the essential oil of peppermint. One of the most widely used natural products, it is found in everything from candy and chewing gum to cigarettes, toothpastes, and liqueurs. At low concentrations in topical preparations, menthol helps to interrupt pain signals. At concentrations of 1.25 to 16 percent, it acts as a counter-irritant by first stimulating nerves that perceive cold and later nerves that perceive warmth while at the same time depressing nerves that perceive pain.

Apply menthol preparations no more than four times a day. Contact dermatitis is a rare side effect. Pure menthol is toxic and should never be ingested or applied to the skin.

Capsaicin
The pungent compound capsaicin, the “bite” of hot peppers, is used in over-the-counter and prescription topical creams to treat muscle pain as well as severe pain associated with shingles and (acute pain along a nerve following an attack of shingles), diabetic neuropathy, and arthritis. A single application of the cream to the skin results in the normal release of substance P. a protein responsible for relaying pain messages from nerve endings to the brain—along with the familiar burning sensation of cayenne. However, repeated applications over several weeks deplete supplies of substance P, bringing pain relief even when the underlying cause of the pain still exists. Pain relief with nonprescription capsaicin products usually occurs within two weeks but may take as long as six weeks. Do not try substituting cayenne or other red peppers in any form for capsaicin.

*I am presently working on a lotion that can be used for the pain and inflammation of the joints. Since I have a form of osteoarthritis and joint pain in my body at times, I know first hand that the items mentioned above can bring great relief! I intend to use wintergreen and peppermint as two of the key ingredients in this lotion. So, stay tuned for this invention.

Last month I talked about Genetically Modified Foods and avoiding them. The following is a list of product names that you can buy that are non GMOs. Some of these products can be found at Walmart Supercenter, Food Lion, Lowes Foods (our area), Kroger, and all will be found at Whole Foods. All 365 products are good foods to buy. They are available at Whole Foods stores. This store does not carry any genetically modified food, has organic produce at times, sometimes they carry heirloom vegetables, and their meat has not had antibiotics fed to the animals. The eggs there are free range and very good! They also carry many supplements, bulk herbs that taste fresh and are mostly inexpensive. The Fresh Market (not Farm Fresh) is a great place to buy these same foods mentioned above.
Cascadian Farms     Nature’s Path (Organic)     Kashi     Eden Organics     Back to Eatin’     Newmans Own     Annie’s Homegrown     Earth’s Best     Stoneyfield Organics     Earthbound Farms Organic     Horizon Milk Products     Spectrum     Garden of Life     Clif (food bars)     And others that I will write about next month!

Horseradish
From The Herb Patch

Hello, everybody! Once again it’s time to explore another ingredient in my Super Immune Tonic. I think most people are familiar with the herb plant horseradish. Yes, it can be thought of as an herb due to its medicinal properties as well as culinary uses. Horseradish has been in cultivation since early times and holds a fascination for all who know its pungency in sauce and with boiled beef. It is a perennial you can start by purchasing the dormant root, which is more readily available in recent years. Plant it in rich, loose soil in full sun with good drainage. It will not make plump roots in poor, hard or sandy soil. It tends to be an aggressive plant, so put it away from your shy, retiring herbs. It is said to deter potato bugs. The tops look like mustard greens, and they may be added to the salad bowl for an extra zing of flavor. To harvest the roots, carefully dig down with a trowel on one side of the plant in late summer or fall. Find a lateral root and cut it off. Do not dig up the plant except for division in midwinter.

Medicinal uses:  The root may be taken in the form of syrup for bronchial infections, catarrh and coughs and as a general tonic for debility. A caution is advised in that large internal doses may cause vomiting.
Culinary:  The young, fresh leaves have a milder flavor than the pungent root and can be added to salads or chopped into smoked-fish patties. The fresh root is shredded to make a strong-flavored, creamy-textured sauce, traditionally served with beef, but also excellent as an accompaniment to cold, especially smoked, meat and fish, and hard-boiled eggs. For a milder flavor, grated apple, sprinkled with lemon juice and vinegar, can be mixed with horseradish.

To make horseradish sauce

2-3 pieces of fresh horseradish root
2 tablespoons cider vinegar
115 g/4oz fromage frais (not sure what this is)
salt, pepper and a pinch of sugar
2 teaspoons fresh, chopped dill

Scrub the horseradish root, grate it finely, and cover with the vinegar. Or, for a smoother texture, mix the horseradish and vinegar in an electric blender till pulped. Mix in the fromage frais, season with salt, pepper, sugar and chopped dill.

TRY something NEW for FLU SEASON
*from Hallelujah Acres Health News, Winter 2011

HEALTH TIPS
In spite of the vast number of people who yield to the pressure to be injected annually with various flu vaccines, the “CDC estimates that from the 1976-1977 season to the 2006-2007 flu season, flu-associated deaths ranged from a low of about 3,000 to a high of about 49,000 people.” Clearly, the flu vaccine isn’t working!

I ran across a quote recently that is attributed to Dresden James that proclaims, “A truth’s initial commotion is directly proportional to how deeply the lie was believed... When a well-packaged web of lies has been sold gradually to the masses over generations the truth will seem utterly preposterous and its speaker a raving lunatic.”

The history of vaccines goes back to 1827 when Boston became the first city to require all children to be vaccinated before entering school. In 1855 it became state law. During the years of 1862-1888 the trend spread across most of the United States and by 1905 almost all states required vaccines for school children. In 1913 the drive to promote the diphtheria vaccine found “health officials” using every conceivable media and marketing tool to “sell” the public on the importance of the vaccine.

Now, nearly two centuries later, our government, in conjunction with the vaccine industry, uses every conceivable means to “sell” the influenza vaccine to the American public. This vaccine is at best questionable as to any benefit in protection from the flu and at worst a source of numerous toxic substances that are directly injected into the bloodstream of infants as young as six months of age.

Common Toxins In Flu Vaccines
·  Formaldehyde –    known cancer risks
·  Triton X100 – a detergent
·  Polysorbate 80 (Tween80) – can cause severe allergic reactions including anaphylaxis
·  Thimersol -- mercury

GlaxoSmithKline’s flu vaccine Fluarix used against subtype virus A and B carries the following comment in the 17 page insert under the Nonclinical Toxicology heading 13.1 Carcinogenesis, Mutagenesis, Impairment of Fertility – “FLUARIX has not been evaluated for carcinogenic or mutagenic potential, or for impairment of fertility”.

Has our government along with the drug companies contrived a well-packaged web of lies about vaccines? Are we to believe we can inject foreign substances into our bloodstream that contain known toxins, dead and/or live viruses, and neurotoxins such as mercury and expect to build immunity against disease?

May I suggest there is a better way? The immune system is one of the most complex systems found in the body. It has numerous components, each with very specific functions. Supporting the immune system is the most important step in developing resistance to disease, colds, flu, and cancer.

The immune system consists of various types of white blood cells that seek out and destroy foreign invaders, especially Natural Killer Cells. Several lifestyle practices suggested in the Encyclopedia of Natural Medicine support higher Natural Killer Cell activity. These included avoiding tobacco smoke, increasing intake of green vegetables, regular meals, maintaining proper body weight, getting more than seven hours of sleep nightly, regular exercise, a low meat diet. and supplying important nutritional factors.

One of the most important things we can do is avoid refined sugars (and sugar substitutes). Sugar is one of the leading toxins that impair the immune system. If 24 teaspoons of sugar are consumed at one time, the ability of the white blood cells to destroy bacteria is impaired by 92%. A large soft drink and a slice of apple pie can easily supply that much sugar in one serving. Is it any wonder the average person on the Standard American Diet succumbs so readily to the viral and bacterial influences they are exposed to on a daily basis?

IMMUNE SUPPORT
During flu season, it may be wise to keep some Sambucol on hand, a standardized extract from black elderberry. Studies show that Sambucol has antiviral properties against 10 different strains of the influenza virus. In a double-blind placebo-controlled, randomized study, Sambucol reduced the duration of flu symptoms to 3-4 days.

Vitamin C has been recognized for decades as being an important immune system protein. Vitamin C has been shown to be antiviral and antibacterial and supports enhanced immune system function.
During periods of infection, vitamin C levels are quickly depleted. Vitamin C is found in green vegetables, berries, and citrus fruit.

Try something new this year! Support your body’s own innate immune system by providing the conditions that are conducive to our natural immunity and self-healing.

Motherly Inventions
Article from the Herb Companion
Pregnancy is a time when many women choose to make lifestyle changes such as integrating herbs into body care and health routines and seeking body care products free of preservatives and synthetic fragrances. Many of these are enhanced with herbs, safely used for generations, that help relieve the simple bodily discomforts often felt during pregnancy—the itch of a growing belly and stretch marks, painful hemorrhoids, and an aching back and legs from carrying the increased weight load.
Body care products containing herbs such as calendula, chamomile, comfrey, and elder can alleviate these problems. You can easily make them yourself. Calendula relieves painful swelling, chamomile increases elasticity of the skin, comfrey helps prevent scarring, and elder is softening. Plantain leaf is an effective topical treatment for belly itching and hemorrhoid discomfort while lavender and chamomile promote relaxation. Look for herbs that are certified organic to ensure that they have not been treated with harmful substances. Certain herbs should not be taken internally during pregnancy. Some, such as feverfew, goldenseal, motherwort, and pennyroyal can bring on bleeding or contractions. Laxative herbs—cascara sagrada, for example—are too irritating to the uterine lining. And some herbs such as borage, dong quai, licorice, and Siberian ginseng affect hormones.

Recipes

GROWING BELLY OIL

No woman wants to remember pregnancy by her stretch marks! This herb-infused oil keeps the skin supple and soft and relieves itching as well. Use this oil for massage as well.

2cups olive oil
½ ounce dried chamomile flowers
¼ ounce dried calendula flowers                  ¼ ounce dried comfrey leaf
1 tablespoon vitamin E oil                             4 to 6 drops essential oil(s) of your choice

Heat the olive oil and herbs in a slow cooker or double boiler for 6 hours on the lowest setting. To prevent rancidness, the temperature of the oil should not exceed 150º; it should be just warm to the touch. Cool and strain the oil through a white cotton cloth. Add the vitamin E and essential oil(s).

**Why not just buy some of my Me Me’s Butt Salve that contains some of these same ingredients. It is very soothing and would work well for the “growing belly” of pregnancy and for the hemorrhoid problem.  There is nothing that can harm the pregnant woman in the salve!

HEMORRHOID SALVE

Hemorrhoids are a fact of life for many pregnant women. This salve offers relief.

2cups olive oil                                ¼ ounce dried comfrey leaf
¼ ounce dried plantain leaf               ¼ ounce dried yarrow flowers
About 2 ounces grated beeswax

Heat the olive oil and herbs in a slow cooker or double boiler for 6 hours on the lowest setting. To prevent rancidness, the temperature of the oil should not exceed 150º; it should be just warm to the touch. Cool and strain the oil through a white cotton cloth. Measure the oil and return it to the cooker with 1 ounce grated beeswax per strained cup of oil. Stir over low heat until the beeswax melts. Pour the salve into a jar. It will thicken as it cools.

TEA FOR TWO

Raspberry leaf is used in folk medicine to strengthen uterine muscles, slow bleeding following childbirth, and alleviate mild morning sickness. Herbalists prescribe nettle and alfalfa leaf to strengthen the vascular system, which may help to prevent varicose veins and hemorrhoids. All three herbs are reputed to increase the supply of breast milk.

2 cups olive oil
½ ounce dried chamomile flowers
¼ ounce dried calendula flowers

¼ ounce dried comfrey leaf
1 tablespoon vitamin E oil
4 to 6 drops essential oil(s) of your choice
Blend the herbs and measure 4 tablespoons into a quart jar. Fill the jar with boiling water and steep, covered, for 30 minutes. Strain and serve warm or chilled. Store in the refrigerator for as long as 2 days.

GENETICALLY MODIFIED FOOD—SCIENCE FICTION HORROR STORY
Excerpts taken from No Greater Joy Magazine by Michael Pearl, March/April 2010

All living organisms, whether plant or animal or human, are constructed of cells. Genetic engineering is the process of artificially tampering with these God-given, natural genetic blueprints. Genetic engineering is a technique to splice, delete, add, isolate, and recombine or transfer genes from one organism to another that may be totally unrelated. Alteration of genes and chromosomes causes disruption and disturbance in the biochemical structure of species (plant or animal) and can result in species mutation. The discovery in the mid-1970’s that scientist could transfer genes from the DNA of one species into that of another was heralded as a major scientific breakthrough. Plants, animals, and other organisms could now become equipped with genes that could never occur naturally and exhibit traits not previously found in their species or even their kingdom. The single dominant GM (genetically modified) trait is herbicide tolerance. Crops are engineered to survive an otherwise toxic dose of weed killer.

The second popular GM trait is a built-in pesticide. The plant produces pesticidal toxins in every cell. Monarch butterflies are killed when feeding on the corn. If a plant kills bugs, do you want to breather its pollen, eat honey made from its nectar, or ingest the plant? Virtually an entire Filipino village of about 100 people living adjacent to a large field of Bt corn [genetically altered to produce a toxin that kills bugs] were stricken by a disease. The symptoms, which appeared at the time the corn was producing airborne pollen, included headaches, dizziness, extreme stomach pain, vomiting, chest pains, fever, and allergies, as well as respirator, intestinal and skin reactions. Many if not all of the villagers exposed to the GM-maize pollen in 2003 have remained ill to this day. Further, there have been five unexplained deaths in the village. The increase in the number of people afflicted with chronic diseases in the United States roughly corresponds to the period when Americans began eating GM foods.

What can you do?

First, you must be informed. When media outlets have attempted to publish the facts concerning GMOs in our food chain, they have been intimidated into silence by their largest advertisers—the producers of genetically modified foods. You can purchase the book, Seeds of Deception, and become acquainted with the issue. Go online, and read about GMOs. Stop buying foods that have been altered. Write to the manufacturers, and inform them that you will not eat their GMOs. Grow your own food!!

**A note from Alice:  In the past, I have realized that what Michael Pearl is talking about is true. I have not read the book above, but have been involved with heirloom seed stores that have done vast research on this matter. One, such as Bakers Seed has been researching this information for years and puts out a catalog with non-hybrid seeds as well as non-GMO information. So, this is not just some conspiracy theory thing that most people think the information is coming from. There are people who have actually seen the results of growing and eating this food. I myself, over a period have bought some of the food that is not organic and is GMO and I will say I can tell a dramatic difference in my health when eating this. Most of the time my husband and I buy our food at organic food stores.  Whole Foods does not carry GMO products and they do not sell foods that have had pesticides used on them. Fresh Market is another place to buy organic food. Whenever I am in the Virginia Beach area this is where I buy most of my food, especially produce. I think that Kroger has some organic food and Food Lion and Walmart has some, but you just have to be willing to do something different and check out the brands that you know for sure do not use GMOs or pesticides on the food.

More on this next month!!!

Sorcery

Leviticus 19:31
Regard not them that have familiar spirits, neither seek after wizards to be defiled by them: I am the Lord your God.

Leviticus 20:6
And the soul that turneth after such as have familiar spirits, and after wizards, to go a whoring after them, I will even set my face against that soul, and will cut him off from among his people.

Leviticus 20:27
A man also or woman that hath a familiar spirit, or that is a wizard, shall surely be put to death: they shall stone them with stones: their blood shall be upon them.

Deuteronomy 18:9-12
9) When thou art come into the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those nations.

10) There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch,

11) Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer.

12) For all that do these things are an abomination unto the Lord: and because of these abominations the Lord thy God doth drive them out from before thee.

divination-the act or practice of trying to foretell the future or the unknown by occult means.

enchanter-a person who casts magic spells or charms.

necromancer-divination by alleged communication with the dead; black magic.

sorcerer-a person who practices sorcery; magician, wizard.

sorcery-the use of an evil supernatural power over people and their affairs; witchcraft.

witch-a woman having supernatural power by a compact with evil spirits.

wizard-a magician; conjurer.

Acts 13:8-11
8) But Elymas the sorcerer (for so is his name by interpretation) withstood them, seeking to turn away the deputy from the faith.

9) Then Saul, (who also is called Paul,) filled with the Holy Ghost, set his eyes on him,

10) And said, O full of all subtilty and all mischief, thou child of the devil, thou enemy of all righteousness, wilt thou not cease to pervert the right ways of the Lord?

11) And now, behold, the hand of the Lord is upon thee, and thou shalt be blind, not seeing the sun for a season. And immediately there fell on him a mist and a darkness; and he went about seeking some to lead him by the hand.

There's been a subtil change among the saved people who have seemingly forgotten that the LORD has a great anger for those who participate in the above practices. Just because we saved people are living in the day of grace, does not give us a freedom to do away with the principles set down by God that allowed us to know what is good for us and what is evil. The LORD did not want Christians to participate or allow in their homes and lives the works of evil. As time has gone on and almost everywhere we see witchcraft, sorcery, divination, wizardry practically in every facet of life. It has become commonplace to most saved people.

What About Disney?
I am not a Disney fan. Years ago, I thought that Disney was a harmless little collection of tales that made us see good versus evil. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Bambi, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, etc. back in my day seemed to be harmless. But as time went on, I did some research on Walt Disney and Disneyland and found that underneath all that nice stuff, there is a great deal of witchcraft and sorcery among other things that they have stopped trying to conceal. Most of the simple nice stuff has been redone into lewd and provocative storytelling and the use of other gods that become heroes to the characters in the story.  The land of Disney no longer hides the fact that they are practicing witchcraft. They have no need to because mostly every one is hooked on Disney. Say something against Disney and you become the target of ridicule and outright anger. Grown ups and children spend millions each year on a place that knowingly allows characters using divination, sorcery, lewd dressed young women, and fairy characters that have magic wands or actually look like they are posing for sex flicks.  Yes, I have seen these only because I have to go into stores that carry this line of advertisement on clothing, food items, and just about everything you can buy has Disney on it. Sometimes I don't even know it's Disney, but find out later that it is. Some of the characters are half animal or fish and human and are falling in love with humans. So, what are Christians doing teaching their children that this is alright in the sight of God.

What used to be called evil and devils has now become Sci Fi.
Then there is stuff like the blatant witchcraft of Harry Potter who plain out says that he is a sorcerer. We wonder what is happening to our children and why they are getting involved in so many "out there" things, but we have not thought about the fact that God said he would set his face against us and our children if we allow this kind of stuff in our lives and in our homes.

Really, there is so much going on with this it is too overwhelming to think about.  Witchcraft and Sorcery has worked its way into just about every facet of our lives.

Music~The Noise of War

Exodus 32:15-18
15) And Moses turned, and went down from the mount, and the two tables of the testimony were in his hand:  the tables were written on both their sides; on the one side and on the other were they written.

16) And the tables were the work of God, and the writing was the writing of God, graven upon the tables.

17) And when Joshua heard the noise of the people as they shouted, he said unto Moses, there is a noise of war in the camp.

18) And he said, It is not the voice of them that shout for mastery, neither is it the voice of them that cry for being overcome: but the noise of them that sing do I hear.

Can we go anywhere today without hearing music~~that sounds like the noise of war?  As I go to places~shopping centers, gas stations, places to eat, I generally hear music that from a distance sounds like there is someone fighting and once I find out where it is coming from (usually someone's car) I realize it is just some punk playing around. The language is filthy, especially using the "f" word that among other perverted language has the capacity to make me angry far beyond anything else that I have had to listen to. It's usually coming from a background of "jungle music" that reminds me of something I heard somewhere in the past in National Geographic from the natives. It has gotten so that this music's volumn is turned up high while the windows are down in the vehicles and no one seems to care to do anything about it. These people who play this music have gotten proud and actually have the "look" of daring the listener to say a word against what they are doing, because they would probably turn the scenario into a real war.

Whenever I have to stop at a service station or stop light and have to sit there and listen to this, I generally have a strong desire to cut my radio or cassette player on as loud as theirs and play some hell fire damnation preaching and singing so that they have to listen to it. Yes, I have done this before, and it usually causes the person playing their music to either cut it off, cut it down, or roll their windows up. It takes a lot of nerve to do this, but that's what we need. These people who do this need to find out what it is like to be treated the same way they are treating others. I have grandchildren that I absolutely do not want to have to listen to such filth and feel the emotion of what the music is portraying, but if they go out in public they are forced to hear it. And where are the policemen when this is going on. A lot of times this can be heard in the parking lots of the public high schools. It has become so commonplace that just about no one pays any attention to it anymore.

Some good examples of this type of music is rap music, rock music (all kinds) and now even some of the country music has this sound going on. This music has been so incorporated
into TV and movies that no one really pays attention to it being there, but it is the same thing that we have been forced to listen to out there in the public. Unless you happen to be a person that does not spend time with the television and movie world, you will not realize how much this is true and has affected the actions of people and their way of thinking.

The next thing I would like to look at is how does God feel about this music...

Exodus 32:19-30
19) And it came to pass, as soon as he came nigh unto the camp, that he saw the calf, and the dancing: and Moses' anger waxed hot, and he cast the tables out of his hands, and brake them beneath the mount.

20) And he took the calf which they had made, and burnt it in the fire, and ground it to powder, and strawed it upon the water, and made the children of Israel drink of it.

21) And Moses said unto Aaron, What did this people unto thee, that thou hast brought so great a sin upon them?

22) And Aaron said, Let not the anger of my lord wax hot: thou knowest the people, that they are set on mischief.

23) For they said unto me, Make us gods, which shall go before us:  for as for this Moses, the man that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we wot not what is become of him.

24) And I said unto them, Whosoever hath any gold, let them break it off. So they gave it me: then I cast it into the fire, and there came out this calf.

25) And when Moses saw that the people were naked; (for Aaron had made them naked unto their shame among their enemies:)

26) Then Moses stood in the gate of the camp, and said, Who is on the Lord's side? let him come unto me. And all the sons of Levi gathered themselves together unto him.

27) And he said unto them, Thus saith the Lord God of Israel, Put every man his sword by his side and go in and out from gate to gate throughout the camp, and slay every man his brother, and every man his companion, and every man his neighbour.

28) And the children of Levi did according to the word of Moses and there fell of the people that day about three thousand men.

There seems to be a connection to idolatry with this music. What do you think?  Also, the people were dancing and made themselves naked. It definitely does not give a sense of peace or contentment after hearing it. It is very confusing and incites anger and riots. God at this time was ready to wipe out all these people for their idolatry and the music, dancing, and nakedness was all a part of this!

Moses Song

For all of the "so-called saved folks" out there who believe that the scriptures written in the Old Testament are of none effect and have no bearing on the church today, I would like to place in your lap the fact that many of the prophecies of Jacob (Israel), Moses, Jeremiah, Isaiah, Daniel, etc. were written to tell us of what would befall (happen) to the Jews and the nations around them in the last days. That means now!!  Past, present, and future. So, I would think we (saved gentiles, Jews, etc.) should take heed to what is the mind of God concerning the people (both saved and lost) including the Jewish nation in our time in which we are now living. God has not changed his mind. Of course, these truths can only be found in the King James Authorized Version 1611. The other versions have either changed what was said or have taken it out completely. Some have been made opposite. Let the scriptures speak for themselves.

Deuteronomy 31:24-30
And it came to pass, when Moses had made an end of writing the words of this law in a book, until they were finished, That Moses commanded the Levites, which bare the ark of the covenant of the LORD, saying, Take this book of the law, and put it in the side of the ark of the covenant of the LORD your God, that it may be there for a witness against thee. For I know thy rebellion, and thy stiff neck: behold, while I am yet alive with you this day, ye have been rebellious against the LORD: and how much more after my death?
Gather unto me all the elders of your tribes, and your officers, that I may speak these words in their ears, and call heaven and earth to record against them. For I know that after my death ye will utterly corrupt yourselves, and turn aside from the way which I have commanded you; and evil will befall you in the latter days; because ye will do evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger through the work of your hands. And Moses spake in the ears of all the congregation of Israel the words of this song, until they were ended.

Chapter 32:1-47
Give ear, O ye heavens, and I will speak; and hear, O earth, the words of my mouth. My doctrine shall drop as the rain, my speech shall distil as the dew, as the small rain upon the tender herb, and as the showers upon the grass:  Because I will publish the name of the LORD:  ascribe ye greatness unto our God. He is the Rock, his work is perfect:  for all his ways are judgment:  a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he. They have corrupted themselves, their spot is not the spot of his children:  they are a perverse and crooked generation. Do ye thus requite the LORD, O foolish people and unwise? is not he thy father that hath bought thee? Hath he not made thee, and established thee? Remember the days of old, consider the years of many generations:  ask thy father, and he will shew thee; thy elders, and they will tell thee. When the Most High divided to the nations their inheritance, when he separated the sons of Adam, he set the bounds of the people according to the number of the children of Israel. For the LORD'S portion is his people; Jacob is the lot of his inheritance. He found him in a desert land, and in the waste howling wilderness; he led him about, he instructed him, he kept him as the apple of his eye. As an eagle stirreth up her nest, fluttereth over her young, spreadeth abroad her wings, taketh them, beareth them on her wings; So the LORD alone did lead him, and there was no strange god with him. He made him ride on the high places of the earth, that he might eat the increase of the fields; and he made him to suck honey out of the rock, and oil out of the flinty rock; Butter of kine, and milk of sheep, with fat of lambs, and rams of the breed of Bashan, and goats, with the fat of kidneys of wheat; and thou didst drink the pure blood of the grape. But Jeshurun waxed fat, and kicked:  thou art waxen fat, thou art grown thick, thou art covered with fatness; then he forsook God which made him, and lightly esteemed the Rock of his salvation. They provoked him to jealousy with strange gods, with abominations provoked they him to anger. They sacrificed unto devils, not to God; to gods whom they knew not, to new gods that came newly up, whom your fathers feared not. Of the Rock that begat thee thou art unmindful, and hast forgotten God that formed thee. And when the LORD saw it, he abhorred them, because of the provoking of his sons, and of his daughters. And he said, I will hide my face from them, I will see what their end shall be:  for they are a very froward generation, children in whom is no faith. They have moved me to jealousy with that which is not God; they have provoked me to anger with their vanities:  and I will move them to jealousy with those which are not a people; I will provoke them to anger with a foolish nation. For a fire is kindled in mine anger, and shall burn unto the lowest hell, and shall consume the earth with her increase, and set on fire the foundations of the mountains. I will heap mischiefs upon them; I will spend mine arrows upon them. They shall be burnt with hunger, and devoured with burning heat, and with bitter destruction:  I will also send the teeth of beasts upon them with the poison of serpents of the dust. The sword without, and terror within, shall destroy both the young man and the virgin, the suckling also with the man of gray hairs. I said, I would scatter them into corners, I would make the remembrance of them to cease from among men:  Were it not that I feared the wrath of the enemy, lest their adversaries should behave themselves strangely, and lest they should say, Our hand is high, and the LORD hath not done all this. For they are a nation void of counsel, neither is there any understanding in them. O that they were wise, that they understood this, that they would consider their latter end! How should one chase a thousand, and two put ten thousand to flight, except their Rock had sold them, and the LORD had shut them up? For their rock is not as our Rock, even our enemies themselves being judges. For their vine is of the vine of Sodom, and the fields of Gomorrah:  their grapes are grapes of gall, their clusters are bitter:  Their wine is the poison of dragons, and the cruel venom of asps. Is not this laid up in store with me, and sealed up among my treasures? To me belongeth vengeance and recompence; their foot shall slide in due time:  for the day of their calamity is at hand, and the things that shall come upon them make haste. For the LORD shall judge his people, and repent himself for his servants, when he seeth that their power is gone, and there is none shut up, or left. And he shall say, Where are their gods, their rock in whom they trusted. Which did eat the fat of their sacrifices, and drank the wine of their drink offerings? Let them rise up and help you, and be your protection. See now that I, even I, am he, and their is no god with me:  I kill, and I make alive; I wound, and I heal:  neither is there any that can deliver out of my hand. For I lift up my hand to heaven, and say, I live for ever. If I whet my glittering sword, and mine hand take hold on judgment; I will render vengeance to mine enemies, and will reward them that hate me. I will make mine arrows drunk with blood, and my sword shall devour flesh; and that with the blood of the slain and of the captives, from the beginning of revenges upon the enemy. Rejoice, O ye nations, with his people:  for he will avenge the blood of his servants, and will render vengeance to his adversaries, and will be merciful unto his land, and to his people. And Moses came and spake all the words of this song in the ears of the people, he, and Hoshea the son of Nun. And Moses made an end of speaking all these words to all Israel:  And he said unto them, Set your hearts unto all the words which I testify among you this day, which ye shall command your children to observe to do, all the words of this law. For it is not a vain thing for you; because it is your life:  and through this thing ye shall prolong your days in the land, whither ye go over Jordan to possess it.
